A Few 1787-1790 Jacket Pics

Pictures snagged from other ball attendees. I am sad and frustrated because I have so many ideas for finishing this outfit, but I don't know when I'll get around to doing it... I have two (three, if I make new stays) really big projects that MUST be done for the Millinery Conference. *sigh* Someday...

Can you tell I'm being all self-conscious about the ugly waistcoat/under bodice? :-P

Your hair is SERIOUSLY impressive, Samantha! And your jacket is beautiful - the fringe/trim is particularly attractive, it adds so much dimension to the piece.

One question - what is the fabric your husband used for his waistcoat? I am hunting for some variety in waistcoat fabric!

thank you, ladies!

abigael, the fabric is just a plain silk taffeta.

Thank you so much! That seems to be what I have seen on waistcoats around the era, but it looked almost like satin and I thought I would double-check. As y'all are clearly more up on your fabric knowledge than myself. ;)

I don't understand what you are calling ugly? I think your whole outfit is so fabulous! You always look incredible! And what is this about a millinery conference? Sounds super fun!!

Blessings!
