Gigantic Gettysburg Post!

Hello all! Since this weekend was so huge, I wrote 3 blog posts over at my Livejournal to make the sharing of images and info easier. So here are a couple of pictures to encourage you to check out the original posts.

Post 1: 1860s Mourning Ensemble

Both ensembles are absolutely beautiful. I agree - the mourning accessories are quite perfectly executed indeed, and most befitting of the occassion. And if you didn't already have wedding gown plans, that ballgown would be stunning with a veil...;-)

Ashley and I have been talking about going for Remembrance Day next year for the anniversary. You've done some good persuading here! :-) Thanks for sharing!

I went over to LJ to take a look at your sets of photos. There's one picture of the mourning dress set, which totally knocked me of my feet - so gorgeous! It's the one where you're mourning together with your friend. That picture is like a painting, epic!
Thanks for sharing,

Sabine

Your ballgown is lovely!

I was there too! Quite by accident actually. I took a day away from the kids and house to go to Needle and Threads (we live an hour away), and I had totally spaced it about Remembrance Day! I stayed for the parade, but was really wishing I had known so I could have come in costume. I'm just not up on the Civil War events in my area since I've been out of reenacting for a number of years. It looks like you had a lovely time.

Oooo, I recognize some people in your pictures! Your gowns are lovely, as always! I'm a long time quite blog reader! We only live a couple of hours from Gettysburg. We've been there in the summer but not for this event...yet.
