Here are some pictures of my finished polonaise jacket, plus a striped sheer cotton petticoat. The cap I made in the shop, along with a matching kerchief and apron.
As for the announcement... Michael has been chosen as the next tailor's apprentice at Colonial Williamsburg! So Williamsburg is to be our home for the foreseeable future! I'm so incredibly proud of my talented fiancé, and excited for our life together.
Yay! Congratulations to your fiance! You two are such an incredibly talented, handsome couple! I hope Colonial Williamsburg will only continue treat you well.
ReplyDeleteI love Mike's very smart-looking outfit in the photo you posted. Kyle's finished ensemble will (eventually) be of a similar color combination.
Best of luck to you both. Hope to be able to meet up with you sometime during the summer. Worst case scenario, we will be in CW at the end of October for the B&T coat workshop and can try for then.
All our best,
Nicki (& Kyle)
Your latest ensemble looks very beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd what great news about your fiance taking an apprenticeship at CW, too! You're both amazingly talented and living a daily life in "history" as a seamstress and tailor must be wonderful - enjoy!!!

Beautiful job on the jacket and new ensemble! I love the ruffled kerchief - is it just a triangle, or is it shaped around the neckline? It drapes perfectly on you!
