Changes for the Couture Courtesan

It's been quiet around here...

And here's why.

I'm about to embark on four days of doctor's appointments (wrist-related and otherwise), followed by a week and a half with my family and friends in California and Hawaii. I'm hopeful that things will pick up after that, but it all remains to be seen.

I am sorry. Even though there are people with worse problems, having your passion - such a big part of your life - taken from you must be very hard. My mum has arthritis in her hands, so I've been thinking about how I would feel if I got it too.... I hope it will get better, so that you can at least do some hand sewing again, even if not full days of it.

I am a long time "lurker" and a great admirer of your work. My heart really goes out to you and you will be in my prayers. Something very similar happened to me over the last two years. Lyme Disease and Mold Toxicity took away my ability to think, work, sew, or do any of my historical passions (including working in and going to historic houses, museums and antique stores.) I totally understand your struggle and the depression that goes with it. I wish I could reach out to you in some way.

I think it is so important for us to be able to talk about things like this honestly and openly. Thank you for being so brave. Keep looking forward and take one step at a time. I wish I could give you more "wise words"...but I am right there with you. :-)
