I wore my blue plaid wool dress with some new trim added. The poor thing needs a new bodice and the skirt repleated, but I'm not sure when I will be wearing it again, so that won't happen for a while... I also threw together a new paletot. I love the color and hope to put more black velvet trim on it. But again, I'm not doing much 1860s stuff anymore...

Sooo pretty! And the gown matches the town perfectly :)
All very nice and what fun to take photos in a setting that enhances your work!
The paletot is stunning, great job! I like the fact it could be worn with historical clothes but the modern too, it is very versatile, which means it would not hang in a wardrobe until next historical event.
Samantha! American Duchess posted your post on her FB page. So glad she did. Firstly, well done! I like your design. I prefer the rounded waist. I love the yellow outer garment, good color choices. Will be following in future. Cheers.
Your paletot looks amazing! Your dress, too! I am curious- did you draft your own pattern for both of these? If not, did you use a pattern for them? I'd love to know which! Looks great!
Love the photos! Is that an actual shop you were in, or like a walk-through museum?
Ooooooh! Samantha, your paletot is gorgeous! I love that color and it goes perectly with your dress! What a fun time to spend with your friend looking so splendid!!
Blessings!
Gina
thank you so much for your kind words, everyone!
ashley, i used the kay fig pattern for the paletot. i love it and have used it twice. it gives such a graceful shape. the dress pattern is my own.
atlanta, part of harper's ferry is preserved as a museum with period furnished shops. it's really neat!
Oooooh that paletot is soooo pretty! Great color choice. You look wonderful!
What a shame there aren't as many 1860s events - that period and you are so well-suited to each other! :)
what fun!!! You look gorgeous as always.
Just beautiful! Is the paletot made out of wool as well?
Very fetching! :-)
